Long Bus Ride #1

So after a day off walking around lovely sunny Boston, it was show day again. Although, i'm just wondering why the Boston city planners got a little lazy with some of the street naming duties they have.

It was great to get back indoors for a couple of shows for me personally as it's always a lot better for me as its easier to control the show athmospherics indoors than it is outdoors. Also i think the band prefer it as it always makes for a much louder audience with the sound contained by the roof. Not that that was a problem for the Boston crowd, who were in full voice throughout.

Also since we were indoors for the first time and i had some relative darkness i was able to actually program some stuff to use in the show

As usual, we were trying to do something a little different so after soundcheck we hit on the idea of playing Brightside first in the show for the first time in years(Probably since the early Hot Fuss shows) and thought why not do it with the house lights still on for a bit of added excitement. Also the band have been working on various cover versions and through in a snippet of "Drive" by The Cars tonight.

I did hear an unusual story the next day. Apparently an overzealous security person decided to inform people at the aftershow meet & greet that they were not allowed to look the band in the eye. That was definitely not the bands doing i can tell you.

After a few hours drive and a border crossing we were in Montreal for a show at the Bell Centre Arena. Originally the show was to take place at Quai Jacques Cartier but due to some production issues with the stage we eventually had to move the show to enable us to actually use our production.

As always, the Quebec crowd was extremely loud and made for a good night, made better by some Poutine for dinner.

Next day we were off to Toronto, Ontario for a show at the Molson Amphitheatre

We did have the joy of being outdoors today with a airshow happening directly behind the venue so we had the insanity of US fighter jets buzzing past the stage at full speeds and those things are extremely loud but somehow they had the nerve to make a noise complaint to the police about us once we started soundchecking.

Anyway, another great show was had with Wolfmother joining the guys onstage as it was the last show they were playing with us.

So now we are in the middle of a 27 hour drive to Denver, Colorado with a stop in Des Moines.Iowa and now that we've spent an hour at customs and border control in Sarnia its back to the bus for the continuing long drive. See ya'll soon
