So after our long Christmas break it was time to pack our bags and head off on the final tour for this album. Or so we thought, just 5 mins after i checked in for my flight to singapore i received a message with the terrible news that one of the band had a serious family illness to contend with so I had to get my bag back and head home as the shows were cancelled. But unfortunately there is nothing that can be done in this situation. They can't be expected to travel half way across the world when this is going on. It was actually so last minute that quite a few people from the crew and band had already travelled to Singapore.
I am however quite disgusted by some of the things i have seen written online by some so called "fans" of the band. I understand some of you were travelling to these shows and have lost out on some money but unfortunately thats what travel insurance is for. The band don't make money off cancelled shows and do not take it as an easy decision to cancel shows. The quite simply horrible things i've seen written on various websites such as facebook and twitter are absolute lies and if you wrote it you should be ashamed of yourself.
If you were a true fan of the band or even just a person with a passing interest and the ability to feel then you should have nothing but sympathy for the band member who is going through an incredibly difficult time right now

Some people are heartless, and/or stupid. Hope no one from the band or the crew believe it's an actual depiction of what the fans are. The minority of idiots is always louder than the majority of good people.

that's pretty messed up thing to do by the "fans".
but also look at the brightside of things, many fans have been pretty supportive about this and are genuinely worried about the band's family member.

the killers have shown us in the
past how much they care about their fans and they wouldn't have cancelled if they didn't have a good reason.
i feel sorry for all the guys looking forward to a concert but obviously there are things that are way more important than a concert. family always comes first and i don't get why so many people don't seem to understand that.
i really hope that whoever is sick gets better soon...we "true" fans are with them at these hard times!! and those who trashtalk the band now should really be ashamed of themselves!

Amen, I couldn't believe some of the reactions. Those people are only concerned with themselves, they certainly aren't fans. My thoughts are with TK and their families, hope all turns out okay.

That's so true, they are normal guys with families first, and here for our entertainment second, people need to understand that. You guys have our support and our thoughts at the moment.

Thanks for the update, Steven. I too couldn't believe some of things people were saying online, truly shocking. My husband came home to find me in tears that Friday, thinking something awful had happened, and as far as I was concerned, it had. I hope whoever is hurting didn't read any of those dreadful things, they have enough to cope with at this terrible time.

Well said Stephen. We were disappointedabout the shows, but in the end we decided to travel anyway and had a great time. It's obvious the band wouldn't cancel like this on a whim, and I don't understand why people would abuse them at what is a difficult time. I hope all is well, the family membe makes a speedy recovery and you all have a great time in Oz.
Yes, I totally agree with you. If a member of the band has a serious problem in his family, it's perfectly normal to not go on tour... I hope everything will be okay for the guys... :)
I could not agree more, Brandon, Mark, Dave and Ronnie have toured for 6 years or more and given so much of themselves to us, and have forfeited so much, even seeing to it that we got our much wanted DVD, I love these guys to bits, their priority is to be with their families, where they are needed most of all, we can wait, how ever long it takes, us loyal,true and compassionate fans will always support them, unconditionally.
I think of them and their loved one's all of the time, I have so much admiration and respect for them, in the cut-throat music industry is is so refreshing to come across the Killers unique style and sound, and their charismatic stage presence, I am a proud Victim for life. x
Hope that all turned out well in the end! Family is certainly the priority. Can't comprehend how fans could be so self-centered, but apparently it happens. I too hope the boys never got wind of any of that nonsense. Now on to OZ! I'm heading down for the two Sydney shows (from the US) and can't wait. I hope you're bringing some of your best work, although I know outdoors is tough for you. What about the Enmore? Got anything interesting up your sleeve for such a small venue? Can't wait. That is really sad and I hope that Brandon, Ronnie, Mark and Dave didn't have to deal with any of it, especially Brandon. Most Victims knew when they heard the news that it had to do with Brandon's Mom, may she rest in peace and may God watch over her and her family. I can't imagine how he is feeling right now but I know many prayers are with him. I hope they all have a fabulous break and you as well. Hope your upcoming journeys are wonderful, safe and exciting.
